Contemporary Rugs

Shop contemporary rugs for sale in Jacksonville, FL at Michael’s Rug Studio. A contemporary rug is defined less by a single motif than by how it handles color, scale and texture. Instead of a centered medallion and a formal border, the pieces in this collection work with abstraction, open fields of tonal color, loose geometry, washed and overdyed grounds, and the deep hand-knotted pile of Tibetan weaving, where the surface itself carries the interest. Palettes run from quiet neutrals — oyster, sand, graphite, bone — to saturated blues, rust and charcoal when a room needs one strong element.

This is the right starting point if your floors are light, your walls are painted a single soft color, and your furniture is low and simple: a contemporary rug grounds that kind of room without competing with it. It also solves open-plan spaces, where a large rug is often the only thing defining where the living area ends and the walkway begins. Homeowners choose these for modern condos, new coastal construction, home offices and bedrooms where the goal is calm rather than pattern.

Sizes run from accent rugs and runners to large room-size pieces, with custom weaving available when a room needs a dimension we do not have in stock. Measure first with our room-by-room rug size guide, then see the collection in person at our showroom, 7119 Bentley Road, Jacksonville, FL 32256, open Monday through Friday 9–5 and Saturday 9–3. You can also request a free rug consultation and we will pull options for your room before you arrive.
