Rugs for Historic and Coastal St. Augustine Homes
St. Augustine’s historic homes pair naturally with classic hand-knotted Oriental and Persian rugs, including Serapi, Oushak and antique-wash designs. Newer coastal builds in St. Johns County often suit lighter transitional rugs in soft blues, ivories and sands. Our team will help you match a rug to the character of your home.
Delivery to St. Augustine
We deliver to St. Augustine and throughout St. Johns County as part of our service area across Northeast Florida, so getting a large rug home is easy.
Getting to Our Showroom from St. Augustine
From St. Augustine the simplest route is straight up I-95 north. Take I-95 to the J. Turner Butler Boulevard (SR-202) exit and head east a short distance — our showroom at 7119 Bentley Road sits just off JTB near the I-95 interchange, so you never have to cross town. If you are starting from the west side of St. Augustine, SR-16 east will put you on I-95 north in a few minutes. Coming from Anastasia Island or the beaches, A1A north through Ponte Vedra Beach and then west on JTB is a pleasant alternative. We are open Monday through Friday 9 to 5 and Saturday 9 to 3, and closed Sunday, so a weekday morning or a Saturday trip both work well.
St. Augustine Neighborhoods We Serve
We regularly work with homeowners in downtown and Lincolnville, Davis Shores, Anastasia Island, St. Augustine Beach, Crescent Beach, Vilano Beach and the North Shores, as well as the newer communities west of the interstate — World Golf Village, Murabella, Palencia, Las Calinas and the Shearwater area along the SR-16 and CR-210 corridors.
Home Styles in St. Augustine and the Rugs That Suit Them
Few places in Florida have St. Augustine’s range of architecture. In the historic district and Lincolnville you will find coquina and masonry cottages, Spanish Colonial Revival stucco, and late-Victorian frame houses with narrow rooms, heart-pine floors and a lot of dark trim. Those rooms were built for pattern: a hand-knotted traditional rug with a defined border and deep madder reds or indigos will look as though it has always been there, and the fine detail of an Oriental or Persian rug reads beautifully against aged wood. Across the Bridge of Lions on Anastasia Island the mood changes to raised coastal cottages with white walls and sliders, where a lighter, lower-contrast rug keeps the room feeling open. West of I-95, the Mediterranean-influenced stucco homes in World Golf Village and Palencia tend toward tall ceilings, tile floors and large open great rooms, which call for a room-size rug with enough scale and softness to warm up all that hard surface. Bring photos and your measurements and we will narrow it down with you — or book a free rug consultation before you make the drive.
